HO Scale Life-Like Model Trains
Life-Like was established during the 50s as Lifoam. The company is primarily a manufacturer of ice chests. The company ventured into model trains and called it Life-Like because ice chests are only seasonal. They started on model scale by selling accessories such as buildings, towers and people to complement the scenery of model trains. The company only started in model trains during the 70s when model trains started to gain in popularity. In 2005, the company sold their manufacturing rights to Wm. K. Walthers which continued manufacturing different model scale trains under the name Life-Like.
The HO scale of Life-Like is well known not only for their durability but also for their compatibility with different models. Life-Like could be bought as an alternative for different model scale trains that could be a little bit more expensive. Life-Like could be easily installed to different model trains without any problem of incompatibility. Their experience of developing accessories in the scenery in model trains could be easily noticed because of its precision in design and quality. The most popular model train series of Life-Like are the Proto model trains. The durability of this series is well known around the hobbyist circle that most of the Proto model trains that were built during the 90s still work today.
