HO Scale Marx Model Trains
The original Marx was founded in the early 30s by Louis Marx. Many regarded the founder as a great innovator when it comes to toys and model trains. He is known to produce some of the most affordable model trains during that time but its durability is almost the same compared to more expensive model trains. The company also released plastic model trains after WWII which was also received with great reception. Unfortunately, Louis Marx retired during the 70s and with it the company, which was sold to Quaker Oats. Although there are new Marx models released today, the design and the motor is never same. Only the name remained of the original Marx model trains.
Marx model trains are usually regarded as toys and not as model trains. But its durability and dedication to quality makes it at par with most of the model scale manufacturers. The HO scale of Marx came in later as the founder started with O scale model trains. The HO model scale trains of Marx have the same distinguishing factors with other scale models. Their motor design as well as its couplers is different and simplified from most popular designs. These were implemented to keep production costs minimal.
