Tyco is the most well-known model railroad product producer on the market in the United States as well as the entire world. In the late 1980s, Tyco went public as a U.S. traded company for its model railroad and other children’s products. The company reached its zenith in the middle to late 1990s, and eventually moved on to other products.

The most popular and known HO Scale Tyco models were those of the “Red” and “Brown” boxes. The “Red” box products started in the 1960s and came to an end in the early 1970s when the Tyco brand was sold. The “Brown” box models began in the 1970s, and ended their run in 1993.
