N Scale Walthers Model Trains

Walthers is a model train manufacturer established in 1932. Founded by Bill Walthers, it slowly became a popular brand in the US until the Second World War. The company temporarily closed its operations during the war so that their supplies could be used for the war. The first model scale of Walthers is the O scale model train which was the most popular scale model during that time. Before the Second World War, Walthers is already releasing a couple of HO model scale trains. Walthers is oldest family owned train manufacturer as the company is administered by the third generation Walther, Phil Walters.

The N Scale Walthers started in production during the 70s. This was caused by the decreasing demand for model trains and in an effort to reduce production cost. Walthers and other model trains came out with N scale model train to keep up with slow demand. The company is well known in releasing an annual catalog with their latest products with different model scales and notably, the N scale model. The N scale model trains of Walthers could be used right out of the box. Each train model sports different couplers that came from different coupling companies to ensure adaptability to the model scale.
