O Scale Weaver Model Trains

Weaver is a US based model train manufacturer established in 1965. The company started out by manufacturing model trains from N to O scale model. Because of their dedication to quality, Weaver became a well known manufacturer model trains between N and O scales during the 60s and the 70s. Their dedication to quality has led the company to reduce their product line and dedicate themselves to the O scale model. The company has found a niche and gained a successful following because of their fine plastic which slowly expanded to brass model scales. By 1995, Weaver issues bi-annual catalog featuring different trains in the O scale model.

Weaver’s dedication to the O scale model made them one of the strongest forces in the O scale industry. They are able to come out with different plastic and brass model trains that could run in 2-rail or 3-rail types of track. Weaver started coming out with O scale made of brass in 1990. The first release of Weaver has proven to be a collector’s item – only 900 were made and less than 50 use the 2-rail system. Most of the O Scale Weaver model trains could be pieced together with the help of Kaydee couplers which increases the adaptability of the brand.
