OO Scale Bachmann Model Trains
Bachmann is a well known model scale manufacturer that traces its roots back to the year 1833 by selling different novelty products. The company started their venture in model scales in 1947 by releasing different model scale buildings for popular model trains. It was only in the 60s that the company eventually made model scale trains starting with N scale model trains which later expanded to HO scale models. Kader took over in 1981 as the original company was about to close down. Bachmann was renamed Bachmann Industries and the factories were transferred to China which signaled a complete retooling of their products.
The OO scale of Bachman was introduced to the public in 1990 after the Bachmann Industries was established the same year. The company would be under Bachmann Industries Europe which was opened to the public in 1989. The notable characteristic of the OO scale Bachmann is the adaptability to different coupling of the model scale. This was due to NEM pockets which became a well known feature among hobbyists. Most of the OO scale Bachmann model trains are also DCC ready while a small percentage of the DCC model trains have already these digital controls as part of their package. The Bachmann OO scale models use the moulds of Replica and Mainline model trains.
