Z Scale Model Trains For Sale

Z scale model train was introduced by Märklin, a very popular model train maker based in Germany. The Z scale was introduced in 1972 in the Nuremburg Toy Fair. It’s the smallest model scale in the world and the letter Z was placed to designate the smallest commercial scale possible. Until today, the Z scale is still unbeaten in terms of size. The Z scale is powered by DC with different controls introduced by different manufacturers. The DCC for Z scale was introduced in 1988 while Micro Trains Line through Minitrix has their custom control called Selectrix.

The Z scale has a ratio of 1:220 to the original train. The space between rails in tracks of the Z scale is 6.5mm. Even though these model trains are small, the Z scale still sports remarkable detailing and finish. They could easily fit to any room and they are usually preferred by companies who wanted to build large scenery with limited space. However, Z scale will require constant cleaning because parts could be easily affected with dust and other external components. Z scale is still gaining in popularity although it has already been considered by different model train companies as an alternative for hobbyists who wanted smaller model trains.
